Man arrested for murder at Outjo

OUTJO, 26 JUN (NAMPA) – A 23-year-old man died on Saturday after being stabbed at a bar in Outjo.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Otjozondjupa Regional Crime Investigations Co-ordinator, Deputy Commissioner Deon Marais on Sunday told Nampa a 20-year-old man was arrested at Outjo on Saturday in connection with the death of Given /Howoseb.
“The deceased’s relatives have been informed,” he said.
It is alleged that the two men had a heated argument at a bar in the Etoshapoort residential area Friday night.
/Howoseb sustained two deep stab wounds - one on the left side of his chest and one on his upper back.
An Okapi knife suspected to have been used in the attack was recovered by the police.
Marais said /Howoseb died in Windhoek’s Katutura Intermediate State Hospital on Saturday afternoon where he was transferred in critical condition.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Outjo Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Police investigations in the matter continue.
