OUTJO, 26 JUN (NAMPA) - A 68-year-old woman was on Sunday morning found dead in her home in Outjo’s Herold Street.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Otjozondjupa Regional Crime Investigations Co-ordinator, Deputy Commissioner Deon Marais told Nampa on Sunday the deceased has been identified as Hester Jacoba Kahmann.
Kahmann, who lived alone, was found with a bloodied head. Marais said the circumstances of her death are still unknown.
He however said the kitchen window was found wide open, and a security gate on one of the doors had been tampered with.
It is suspected that Kahmann died between 08h30 on Saturday and 07h00 Sunday morning, said Marais, adding that it is also not known if anything was stolen from the house.
An unspecified amount of money is being offered as a reward for any information that might lead to the arrest of the suspect.
The police also urged the sister of the deceased, who used to live in Tsumeb and/or Walvis Bay, to contact the Otjozondjupa police.
Police investigations continue.
