COSAFA: Mannetti makes no changes to Warriors squad

WINDHOEK, 24 JUN (NAMPA) – Brave Warriors coach Ricardo Mannetti has kept the same squad of 11 that won their Plate semi-final against Mozambique to start in the final of the losers section against Zambia.
The 2016 Council of Southern Africa Football Association (Cosafa) Cup Plate final is scheduled to be played at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Friday afternoon at 17h00.
By halftime on Friday, Namibia was leading 1-0.
In the Plates semi-finals, Namibia beat Mozambique 3-0 while Zambia beat Lesotho 3-2 to also reach the final.
Ahead of their clash in the final of the losers section, the two nations have meet four times in the Cosafa Castle Cup, drawing three times. The only outright win for either side in the tournament came for Zambia in 2009 when Stoppila Sunzu scored in a 0-1 success for the Chipolopolo.
In 2015, the two nations drew 0-0 in the semi-finals but Namibia defeated Zambia 5-4 on penalties in Moruleng, South Africa.
The starting squad is as follows:
Goalkeeper: Maximilian Mbaeva
Defenders: Ananias Gebhardt; Denzil Hoeseb; Ferdinand Karonge; and Ronald Katjijere
Midfielders: Deon Hotto; Wangu Gomes, Absalom IImbondi; and Peter Shalulile
Forward: Larry Horaeb and Itumunua Keimuine
The tournament ends Saturday in a match between South Africa and Botswana.
