Teachers' conferences continue in Oshikoto Region

ONGWEDIVA, 23 SEP (NAMPA) – The Onyaanya Circuit in the Oshikoto Region will host an annual Teachers’ Conference for all its 280 teachers on Monday.
The Inspector of Education for that circuit, Gerhard Ndafenongo, told Nampa over the weekend that the conference will be held at the Uukule Senior Secondary School (SSS) of the Oshikoto Region’s Onyaanya Constituency.
The conference is organised under the theme “Technology is an Instructional Aide”.
Ndafenongo said the conference is an excellent platform for the sharing of information, experience and expertise on how technology can be used to enhance school management and administration.
It will also be about sharing information and experiences on teaching and learning, while fostering unity and networking among teachers.
According to Ndafenongo, Director of National Institute for Education Development, Dr Hertha Pomuti is expected to make a presentation on the use of technology in education and the clustering system.
Onyaanya will be the second circuit to host a teachers’ conference in the Oshikoto Region within a period of four days, following the Omuthiya Circuit which also had a teachers’ conference in the same region on Friday.
A total of 360 teachers participated in the one-day Omuthiya Circuit Teachers’ Conference, which was officially opened by Prime Minister Dr Hage Geingob.
