Okatope NamPol records suicide

ONGWEDIVA, 07 JUN (NAMPA) - The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) at Okatope in the Oshikoto Region have opened an inquest docket, following the death of a 34-year-old man who allegedly committed suicide on Monday.
Confirming the incident to Nampa on Monday evening, Deputy Commissioner Naomi Katjiua of NamPol in the region identified the deceased as Ananias Uukongo.
Katjiua said Uukongo was found with an electrical cord around his neck at his home village of Ethiya in the Onyaanya area.
“It is alleged that the deceased was found dead in his room by his older brother with an electrical cord around his neck,” said Katjiua, who is at the same time NamPol's crime investigations coordinator in the Oshikoto Region.
No suicide note was left behind.
The next of kin have already been informed about Uukongo’s death and Police investigations into the matter continue.
