EENHANA, 30 MAY (NAMPA) – The Eenhana Trade and Business Expo has become a chain linking the town’s businesses with those from other towns and regions.
In this way, it serves as a one-stop centre for interaction between businesses, Eenhana Mayor Julia Shikongo said at the official launch of the 2016 Eenhana Trade and Business Expo here on Saturday.
The expo was launched during a gala dinner held to raise funds for the hosting of the event.
Shikongo said the expo gives people the people the opportunity to facilitate the trading of diverse products and services, and to bring services closer to the people of Eenhana and the Ohangwena Region at large.
She called on entrepreneurs who have not yet booked their stands to do so and to start informing their clients to visit their stalls during the event from 25 to 30 July.
“Through this platform you can increase your customer base and reach those who find it difficult to access your place of business if not situated in the region,” Shikongo said.
As the current venue has become too small to accommodate all the exhibitors, plans are underway to construction a convention centre where the expo and other events can be hosted in future.
“For the 2016/17 financial year, council has allocated N.dollars 7 million towards the construction of the first phase of this facility,” Shikongo said.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Eenhana Town Council, Valde Ndevashiya said some of the funds raised during the dinner will also be utilised in the construction of the convention centre.
