Oruuano church embraces Harambee Prosperity Plan

OTJIWARONGO, 28 MAY (NAMPA) - The Oruuano Protestant Unity Church on Saturday announced its willingness to contribute towards the success of the Harambee Prosperity Plan.
The Harambee Prosperity Plan outlines Government's planned developmental activities for the next four years. It is based on five pillars - effective governance and service delivery; economic advancement; social progression; infrastructure development; and international relations and cooperation.
At the official opening of a three-day national conference of the Oruuano Protestant Unity Church at Otjiwarongo in the Otjozondjupa Region, Bishop Wylie Upi said because his church works closely with community members, he will see to it that they are informed of the plan.
“I want to assure Government that the Oruuano church commits itself to working closely and in harmony with all development partners in the implementation of the Harambee Prosperity Plan and its programmes,” said Upi.
He said the church will also instil a culture of hard work in all its members so they can contribute to Namibians being quality service oriented people.
Upi said Oruuano church will also promote a culture of discipline and respect in its younger members so they can help build a strong Namibian nation as reflected in the document.
Church delegates from the Omaheke, Erongo, Kunene, Khomas, Kavango East and Kavango West, Oshana and Otjozondjupa regions are attending the conference, which started Friday and ends Sunday.
