WINDHOEK, 27 MAY (NAMPA) - The Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) on Thursday announced the team that will play against the Griffons in the Welwitschias eighth game of the 2016 Currie Cup.
This will be the Windhoek Draught Welwitschias fourth game of the competition to be played at the Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek. It takes place on Saturday at 15h00.
Namibia is bottom of the log with one point from seven games played in the competition.
Last Friday, the Namibian outfit lost by 17 points to 42 against the Leopards, in Olen Park, Potchefstroom, South Africa.
The Griffons are currently undefeated in four games from the six played thus far and are sixth on the log with 19 points.
Casper Viviers, Gerhard Lotter, Collen Smith, Muniovita Kasiringua, Ruan Ludick, Rohan Kitshoff (c), Zayne Groenewaldt, Joe Hermann, Cameron Klassen, Shaun Kaizemi, Russell van Wyk, Francois Wiese, Lesley Klim, Phillip Nashikaku, Riaan van Zyl, Petrie Burger, Aleck Botha, AJ de Klerk, Thomas Khali, JC Winkler, Aurelio Plato and Justin Nel.
The NRU registered a national team made up of only local players for the 2016 edition of the Currie Cup.
The tournament is played from April to October, with the Welwitschias set to play seven games at home and seven in South Africa.
