Swapo Party School finally off the ground

WINDHOEK, 22 MAY (NAMPA) – The Swapo Party School will be launched on Monday to train and produce party cadres of high calibre to articulate the party’s ideology.
The school is finally getting off the ground after the party passed a resolution some years ago to create a platform where party cadres will be trained and groomed to ensure Swapo’s successive victories for years to come.
Swapo Secretary-General Nangolo Mbumba announced on Sunday during the official opening of the Swapo Central Committee (CC) in Windhoek that President Hage Geingob will launch the school.
Speculations are rife that former Deputy Prime Minister Marco Hausiku will be the rector of the school. Several directors have apparently been appointed.
Contacted for comment on Sunday, Hausiku said he was not aware of the appointment and referred this agency to Mbumba, who was in the CC meeting at the time of writing the story.
The curriculum will include the history of the country, the history of Swapo and its political programme, the economy of the country, the country's legal system and philosophy.
Participants will be groomed into leaders who will ensure the long-term survival of the party.
