GOBABIS, 19 MAY (NAMPA) - The organising committee of the Omaheke Trade Fair, a regional trade and agriculture exhibition for the Omaheke Region, is hard at work preparing for this year's edition of the event.
Omaheke Trade Fair will be holding its fifth fair from 26 September until 01 October 2016 at the Legare stadium in Gobabis.
Tucy Katire, one of the event's organisers told Nampa on Thursday all is in place to secure a successful trade fair.
She said registration for exhibitors and vendors for the event is now open.
Exhibitors can register to display their products and services under various categories, such as taking part as a food outlet; SME or youth organisation, arts and craft and as a Government ministry.
The registration closes on 28 August.
For the food category we only need 30 vendors, so people should hurry to register. Application forms are available at the Omaheke Trade Fair office. Book your stand now to avoid disappointment later, Katire said.
There will be more activities lining up once the trade fair starts.
Activities lined up for this year's event include a fashion show, horse racing, talent show, soccer and netball tournament, and an agricultural event.
The Omaheke Trade Fair was sponsored by the Agricultural Bank of Namibia (AgriBank) during its two first editions (2012 to 2013), to the tune of over N.dollars 50 000 as its main sponsor.
Standard Bank Namibia however took over the main sponsorship, availing an average of N.dollars 55 000 per year.
The bank will this year sponsor the event to the tune of N.dollars 55 150.
We are looking forward to a bigger and better trade fair this year, where everyone will be included, especially kids activities like a snake park and jumping castle. We are hoping that it will be a bigger success than the previous years, Katire said.
There will be a gala dinner in Windhoek later this year to raise funds for the trade fair.
