Pupkewitz Mega Tech creates jobs in the North: Kashuupulwa

OSHAKATI, 18 SEP (NAMPA) – Pupkewitz Mega Tech, a subsidiary of Pupkewitz Holdings Limited, on Tuesday opened a multi-million dollar branch at Oshakati in the Oshana Region to provide a variety of electrical appliances to the people of northern Namibia.
The new branch is located close to the main road within the Continental No. 1 business complex in the Oshakati East Constituency, and it represents a total investment of more than N.dollars 5 million from the company.
Speaking at the official opening, Oshana Regional Governor Clemens Kashuupulwa said the branch is strategically located to cater properly for the needs of many local customers.
“The Pupkewitz Mega Tech branch at Oshakati is a contribution to the development of the town, and it will lead to the creation of more job opportunities in the region,' the Oshana regional governor noted.
Kashuupulwa said the investment will also assist the government to achieve its socio-economic goal of poverty reduction.
The governor urged the branch’s staff to ensure excellence in service delivery, and he also called on other companies to invest in the northern parts of Namibia like Pupkewitz MegaTech just did.
Kashuupulwa said he wants investors to bring businesses to the rural areas of the country, and he promised that the government will always strive to create a conducive environment for businesses there to flourish.
The Managing Director of Pupkewitz Holdings, Jerome Davis told those in attendance that the Oshakati Pupkewitz Mega Tech branch is the second in the country, and the first to be established outside Windhoek.
“This is our first expansion from Windhoek into the North,” said Davis.
He explained that Pupkewitz Mega Tech started out with 12 workers some five years ago, but the number of employees has now grown to 80 employees.
The Oshakati branch employs 12 people, with Neels van Wyk as manager.
