Man stabbed to death at Rundu

RUNDU, 15 SEP (NAMPA) – The police at Rundu have arrested a 30-year-old man after he allegedly stabbed a man to death at a shebeen at the Kaisosi informal settlement on the town’s outskirts on Saturday evening.
According to a police report issued by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Sunday, the suspect allegedly stabbed the 41-year-old deceased on the right side of his chest, and he died on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Eward Muronga, who lived at Kaisosi. His next of kin have been informed.
The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
In an unrelated incident, a 21-year-old woman was allegedly gang raped by three men at Rundu last Thursday.
The incident occurred near a bar opposite the Engen service station at around midnight.
The suspects allegedly forced the victim to the ground, threatened to stab her with a knife and then sexually assaulted her.
The three suspects have been arrested and are expected to make their first court appearance on Monday.
