Oshakati bar, Rundu shop robbed

WINDHOEK, 17 APR (NAMPA) – A bar in Oshakati was robbed of cash and items worth N.dollars 25 000 in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi said at the weekly crime briefing here on Sunday an unknown number of suspects gained entry to the Etaka Bar in the Uupindi area through its roof between midnight and 08h30.
They broke open the locks of jackpot machines and stole money and items worth N.dollars 25 390.
The suspects are still at large and none of the stolen items have been recovered. Police investigations continue.
The police also reported that in Rundu on Friday at around 17h20, three armed men entered the Lin China Shop under the pretext of being customers.
They gun-pointed the 27-year-old Chinese national in the shop at the time and got away with money, a laptop and five cell phones.
“The cash and items amount to N.dollars 75 000,” Shikwambi said.
No arrests have been made in connection with the robbery and the stolen items are yet to be recovered. The police investigation continues.
