Son allegedly hacks father to death at Ndama

RUNDU, 17 APR (NAMPA) – A 24-year-old man allegedly killed his father and buried his body in their backyard at the Ndama informal settlement near Rundu on Saturday.
The man reportedly attacked his 49-year-old father with a panga, causing head injuries, on Saturday at around 21h00.
Chief Inspector Ewald Kavara of the Namibian Police at Rundu confirmed the incident to Nampa on Sunday, saying the man died on the spot at the family home, where the attack occurred.
The younger man then buried his father in their yard.
The deceased was employed as a soldier and worked at the Rundu Military Base.
The police could not explain what led to the attack.
The suspect has been arrested and will appear in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
