Man rapes former lover; woman rapes boy

WINDHOEK, 10 APR (NAMPA) – A 23-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her former lover at Onameya in Okahao of the Omusati Region on 02 April.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi informed a Sunday media briefing here that the suspect, whose age is not yet known, and the victim were involved in a relationship, but had broken up.
The suspect has not been arrested yet.
In the same region, a 54-year-old woman has been charged with rape after she allegedly forced a 16-year-old boy to have sexual intercourse with her on 31 March.
The incident took place at the suspect’s house in the Ongavu location at Outapi.
The suspect has also been charged for assaulting the boy with sticks.
In the Kavango East Region, a 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped in Donkerhoek on Friday.
The suspect (age unknown) allegedly took advantage of the victim while she was under the influence of alcohol, and led her to his room where he had sexual intercourse without her consent.
The suspect is still on the run.
In the Zambezi Region, an 18-year-old man allegedly had sexual intercourse with a 23-year-old woman without her consent on Friday.
The incident occurred at the Makanga Village, where the suspect allegedly entered the victim’s room, forcefully held her down and raped her.
The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in court on Monday.
