Welwitschias squad against Toyota Free State announced

WINDHOEK, 05 APR (NAMPA) - The Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) on Tuesday announced its squad that will travel to Bloemfontein, South Africa for its first match of the 2016 Currie Cup.
The Windhoek Draught Welwitschias will play the Toyota Free State on Saturday at 14h30, South African time.
The match will be broadcast on DSTV’s Supersport channel.
The Currie Cup tournament is South Africa's premier domestic rugby union competition, featuring teams representing entire provinces or substantial regions within provinces in South Africa.
The tournament is regarded as the cornerstone of South Africa's rugby heritage and has been in existence since 1889.
The NRU registered its national team made up of only local players for the 2016 edition of the Cup.
The tournament will be played from April to October, with Namibia’s Welwitschias playing seven games at home and the rest in South Africa.
The players travelling to Bloemfontein on Friday are:
Quintin Esterhuizen; Gerhard Lötter; Collen Smith; Muniovita Kasiringua; Ruan Ludick; Rohan Kitshoff (captain); Leneve Damens; Roderique Victor; Arthur Bouwer; Mahco Prinsloo; Malcolm Moore; Darryl de La Harpe; J C Greyling; Russel van Wyk; Johan Tromp; Joe Hermann; Hauta Veii; Shaun du Preez; Denzil van Wyk; J C Winkler; and Shawn Kaizemi.
The team will also be accompanied by head coach John William; assistant coach Roger Thompson; strength and conditioning coach PD Stoman; team doctor Aidan Fredericks; physiotherapist Corné Ferreira; team manager Danie von Solms; and NRU Vice-President Ivan Gaya.
