Two South African tourists die on Keetmanshoop/Grunau road

WINDHOEK, 21 MAR (NAMPA) - Two South African nationals lost their lives in a road accident when a Volkswagen Jetta sedan they were travelling in overturned along the B1 road between Keetmanshoop and Grunau in the //Kharas Region on Saturday.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol), Inspector Slogan Matheus told a media conference here on Monday the accident occurred at about 07h50 when the driver of the sedan lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.
There were five persons in the vehicle, including the driver. All of them are family members.
The two deceased persons were identified as Willanre de Klerk, 24, and 29-year-old Lauren-Kay Barnard.
Two other persons, aged 27 and 54, sustained serious injuries and the 24-old-driver sustained slight injuries. All survivors were admitted to the Keetmanshoop State Hospital.
The deceased persons' next of kin have already been informed, and police investigations continue to establish the exact circumstances that led to the accident and loss of lives.
