RUNDU, 13 MAR (NAMPA) – A elderly woman was allegedly raped at the Ngwangwa village in the Kavango East Region on Saturday while coming from her crop field.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Acting Regional Crime Investigations’ Coordinator for Kavango East, Detective Chief Inspector Chrispin Mubebo told Nampa on Sunday an unknown man allegedly pushed the pensioner to the ground, took off her clothes and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
The incident took place at an unknown time in the afternoon.
“This is a cruel and revolting sexual attack on a vulnerable 85-year-old woman. The police will not rest until they find the person who committed the crime,” he said.
The man has not been arrested but police investigations into the matter continue.
