WINDHOEK, 15 MAY (NAMPA) - The Ministry of Education (MoE) has extended its registration period to allow Grades 10 and 12 part-time candidates who have not yet registered for the 2013 national examinations, to do so.
The 2013 Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate (NSSC) and Junior Secondary Certificate (JSC) examinations are slated for October and November this year.
Education Permanent Secretary (PS) Alfred Ilukena said in a media statement on Wednesday that the extension was necessary because the MoE received information from regional directorates and part-time examination centres that Grade 10 and Grade 12 part-time candidates were not able to register for their 2013 national examinations between 01 February and 03 April 2013.
In this regard, the registration dates have now been extended from 21 May to 05 June 2013.
Ilukena thus called on the Directorate of Education and part-time examination centres to ensure that they accommodate such candidates in terms of examination venues and other resources needed for conducting and administering national examinations.
The Directorate of Education and part-time examination centres which are not able to accommodate these candidates must refer them to other educational regions or part-time examination centres, where spaces are available.
The PS said regional examination officials must also ensure that the registration forms of these candidates are delivered to the regional offices on or before 11 June 2013, and to reach the Directorate of National Examinations and Assessment on or before 14 June 2013, together with the amended preliminary entry list for the 2013 national examinations.
?Candidates should note that they will have no opportunity to verify their entries? registration for the 2013 national examinations. Therefore, candidates are urged to complete the registration forms with due diligence,? he advised.
