WINDHOEK, 02 MAR (NAMPA) - Civics cannot afford to lose points going into this weekends games, Civics head coach Donnelly Nell says.
Speaking during a media conference held in the capital ahead of their televised game against Rundu Chiefs at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Saturday, Nell said his team is planning on ending the league in the top eight.
We have been conceding silly goals in the last games that we played in the league, but we are going into this weekends games prepared to do battle, win all our games and improve our log standings.
I would really be happy if we finish the league in sixth position, but that would not be easy. We are prepared to collect the maximum six points over the weekend; the boys are currently motivated to win, he said.
Civics are currently 13th on the log from 20 games played with 23 points from the 16-team Namibia Premier League (NPL). Rundu Chiefs are ninth on the log with 27 points from 21 games played thus far.
The two teams have already clashed during the first leg of the 2015/16 NPL season in Rundu - Civics lost the game 2-1 at the Rundu Sport Stadium.
Speaking at the same media conference, acting Public Relations Officer and Executive Member of the Board of Rundu Chiefs Malakia Simaho said Rundu Chiefs are the underdogs going into the game.
We respect Civics because they are a big team but come Saturday we will give them a run for their money, said Simaho.
