South Africa to pull out forces from Dafur

Members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) are to be withdrawn from Darfur‚ Sudan‚ the Presidency said on Wednesday.

“President Jacob Zuma has terminated the employment” of members of the SANDF‚ a statement said‚ adding that it “will take effect from April 1‚ 2016”.

“Members of the SANDF were employed in Darfur in 2008 as part of the AU/UN Hybrid Operation in Darfur.”
