WINDHOEK, 08 FEB (NAMPA) – Public consultations are underway on the New Equitable Economic Empowerment Framework (NEEEF) Bill.
The NEEEF Bill is designed to restructure the private business sector through empowerment pillars that are aimed at addressing a variety of needs of previously disadvantaged people.
The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) and the Land Reform and Development Commission (LRDC) loaded the draft Bill on their websites last week to invite the public to make their comments via an online submission form.
In a media statement issued on Friday, the OPM said the platform will allow everyone a fair opportunity to react to the Bill.
The Bill will remain online until 25 February 2016, allowing more than 14 days for input from the public.
The Government approved the NEEEF to empower previously disadvantaged Namibians.
The framework is designed to supersede all other transformation and empowerment policies in the country.
The NEEEF Bill is one of 40 Bills expected to be discussed in the National Assembly this year.
