WINDHOEK, 05 SEP (NAMPA) - The Chinese Embassy in Windhoek is presenting a photo exhibition on the ground floor of the Gustav Voigts shopping centre in the capital.
The aim is to create awareness about the relations between Africa and China by means of pictures of Africans living there.
“Through this exhibition, Namibian people will know more about African people staying and living in China. They are very happy, and when they return back to Africa after living and working there, they come home more motivated”, ambassador Xin Shunkang said during the official opening ceremony on Wednesday.
He said it is through the media that more Namibians are now aware of what is happening in China.
He then commended Namibia's judiciary system, adding that the country’s political stability and conducive business environment are some of the reasons why Chinese business people opt to open their businesses and invest in Namibia.
Since the exhibition is to showcase the relations between the two continents of Asia and Africa, several pictures of prominent Namibian politicians and sportsmen and women are also on display.
The group of between 35 to 40 pictures also show Africans walking through markets, and socializing
Swakop Uranium is the main sponsor of the exhibition, which ends on Friday.
