ONGWEDIVA, 02 FEB (NAMPA) – The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Omusati Region have identified the two people found dead in their bedroom in the region over the weekend.
They are Cletus Mengela, 31, and Ndahambelela Mumangeni, whose age was not immediately available.
Warrant Officer Lineekela Shikongo of NamPol’s Public Relations Unit in the region in a telephonic interview to Nampa on Wednesday said they were in a relationship, and both are residents of the Omusati Region’s Anamulenge Constituency.
Shikongo said Mengela is originally from Omufitu waNauyala village, while Mumangeni is from Onhokolo village.
As a matter of fact, NamPol pointed out that the two died at the Okakekete village and not Olukekete village and were in fact discovered at about 16h00 on Sunday.
They were last seen in the area on Saturday.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that smoke from a power generator, which the deceased persons left on inside their bedroom when they fell asleep, could be the cause of their death.
Shikongo said suicide intention could not be confirmed at this stage as no suicide note was found on the scene.
