KEETMANSHOOP, 28 JAN (NAMPA) – A week has passed since a three-year-old boy was swept away by strong waters during an unexpected flood at Komsberg last Thursday.
This week Thursday, //Karas Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Regional Commander, Johannes Tsuseb told Nampa the search for young Kakuru Diyeve was ongoing.
“The search for the boy will not stop until he is found,” he said said.
Tsuseb said Special Reserve Force members of the Karasburg and Ariamsvlei police stations are busy searching for the missing boy along the Orange River every day since the incident.
Diyeve disappeared when a strong river current pulled him away from his mother and a younger sibling as they tried to escape the raging waters.
Dozens of the reed houses belonging to workers of the Komsberg and Desert Fruit grape companies have also been washed away.
The unsafe houses have for years been a bone of contention among workers, Government and farm owners.
Affected workers are currently accommodated in a tent at the farm.
