OPUWO, 23 JAN (NAMPA) – Three people died in an accident on the main road between Kamanjab and Outjo on Friday afternoon.
This was confirmed by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) crime coordinator in the Kunene Region, Commissioner Rudolf Kanyetu.
He said the accident occurred at around 13h30.
The driver of the vehicle, Ningiree Kazeundja and a passenger, Ueirya Mbinge, were reported to be in a critical condition.
The names of the deceased could not be released as their next of kin were still to be informed.
The five men had apparently been travelling from Walvis Bay to Otjokavare to attend a funeral. Meanwhile, the police also reported that two children have gone missing from Moedoorwin, a farm in the Kamanjab district.
Jatjingongolwa,a boy aged four and Jinakandu, a three-year-old girl, have been missing since last Saturday.
The police had not made much progress in tracing them by Friday.
It is thought that the children decided to follow their parents, who went to visit a nearby farm.
It is believed that they may be wearing traditional Himba attire.
Anyone with information on the missing children can contact Veparura Kavekotora at 0814756688.
