German military aircraft to land in Windhoek Friday

WINDHOEK, 21 JAN (NAMPA) – A German military aircraft is expected to land at the Hosea Kutako International Airport on Friday.
A media statement issued on Thursday by the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Ullrich Kinne said the Airbus A 340 aircraft is on its regular training flights in Africa and the Middle-East.
“The purpose of the training flights is to familiarise the German military crew with the flying conditions of the African airspace as well as the Middle-East,” he said.
During its stay in Namibia, no cargo will be unloaded from the military aircraft and no other operations will be carried out.
The aircraft is scheduled to land at the airport on Friday evening and will depart in the morning hours of Sunday.
