Kavango East produce best Grade 12 results

WINDHOEK, 13 JAN (NAMPA) ? The Kavango East Region finished top in the 2015 Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate (NSSC) Ordinary Level results for full-time and part-time candidates. The Minister of Education, Arts and Culture Katrina Hanse-Himarwa officially released the Grade 12 results on Wednesday. The Kavango East Region, which was established in 2013 on recommendation of the Fourth Delimitation Commission, moved up three places from fourth position it held in 2014.The Oshikoto Region remained in second place, while Erongo, which was in first position in 2014, moved down two places to third place. Otjozondjupa moved up one place and now occupies fourth position, followed by Khomas in fifth position. Khomas was seventh in 2014. Omaheke made the most progress - moving up six places from 12th position to sixth place. In seventh place overall is Hardap Region, which moved one place down. Ohangwena dropped five places and is now in position eight. Meanwhile, Kunene climbed two places - from 11th spot to ninth. Kavango West is 10th position after dropping three places. Omusati also moved down three places to 11th position, while //Kharas fell two places to position number 12th. The bottom two are Oshana (13th) after dropping four places, and Zambezi (14th), the same position it held in 2014. Hanse-Himarwa appealed to all schools to put up mechanisms that would lead to improved results. ?I direct all schools to draw up improvement plans and establish remedial classes that would assist learners who could not cope with the speed of others. ?I still believe we have the talents, skills, resources and expertise to turn the situation around despite hiccups. Yes, we all have the ingredients we need to produce the best citizens the world would admire and adore,? concluded Hanse-Himarwa. (NAMPA) EM/ND
