Bank Windhoek has appointed Ms Baronice Hans as the Managing Director Designate of the Bank.
“I am confident that she will add tremendous value and build on the success of Bank Windhoek achieved under the leadership of Christo de Vries and his predecessors. We are pleased to have been able to attract a seasoned and respected Namibian banker like Baronice to lead our bank into the future”, said Koos Brandt, Chairman.
Baronice, who was named Namibian Businesswoman of the Year in 2015, worked at Standard Bank Namibia for six years and for the past four years, held the position of Executive Director and Head Personal and Business Banking. Besides an extensive career in banking, she also has experience from serving on multiple boards across diverse sectors.
Excited about joining Bank Windhoek, Baronice commented, “The world of banking has never seen such an exciting time of change, change that is for the better of our staff and customers. This change is largely driven by the digital revolution in banking which spans across all customer segments. Baronice will begin working closely with Christo de Vries starting from 1 February 2016. Christo will serve as the MD for the remainder of the 2015/2016 financial year.
