The Public Service Union of Namibia (PSUN) has increased its membership contributions due the current state of Namibia’s economy and the pressure it has placed on the union.
According to a press release by PSUN, the increment will be effected in the following formular:
N$22.00 + N$8.00 = N$30.00
N$30.00+ N$10.00 = N$40.00
N$35 + N$15.00 = N$50.00
N$40.00 + N$20.00 = N$60.00
PSUN highlighted that economic factors that are out of the hands of the Union, such as inflation, have depleted its resource base.
“In the circumstances we are often left with no choice but to turn to the mass of our membership for their support in securing the future of our unions and the ideologies that they stand for”, the press release noted in part.
