OTJIWARONGO, 07 JAN (NAMPA) – A 22-year-old woman who was ‘missing’ for close to a week, reported herself to the Outjo Police Station in the Kunene Region on Thursday.
Maleska Bapello did so after she heard on the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation’s (NBC) Damara-Nama Radio News on Wednesday evening that the police were looking for her.
She told the police that she had gone to visit a female friend at Farm Rosendale on 31 December 2015 immediately after church.
Farm Rosendale is situated approximately 30 kilometres west of Outjo.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Otjozondjupa Regional Detective, Chief Inspector Naukalemo Andreas told Nampa on enquiry Thursday that Bapello has been reunited with her family.
Bapello was reported missing after she did not return home from church in Etoshapoort since New Year’s Eve.
Andreas earlier said that Bapello is mentally unstable.
