OTJIWARONGO, 26 DEC (NAMPA) – The Otjiwarongo State Hospital welcomed twins on Christmas Day.
Otjiwarongo State Hospital matron Alex Sishando told Nampa on Saturday the boy and girl and their mother are healthy and doing well.
The twins were delivered naturally shortly after 20h00 on Friday, bringing the total number of babies born at the hospital on Christmas Day to six.
Three of the babies are boys and three girls.
All babies and their mothers were in a stable condition on Saturday morning, Sishando said.
The twins’ mother, the 34-year-old Hendrina Kavetuna from Otjiwarongo, said it feels good to deliver a healthy baby, especially on a special day like Christmas.
Meanwhile, a premature baby boy was born at the Outjo State Hospital weighing 1,5 kilogrammes (kg). He was the only baby to be born there on Friday.
Sishando said the normal weight for a newborn is more than 2,5 kg.
