Babies born on Christmas Day

WINDHOEK, 25 DEC (NAMPA) – Fifteen babies were born in Windhoek by midday on Christmas Day 2015.
A registered nurse and midwife at the Katutura State Hospital, Benita Mujoro, told Nampa upon enquiry on Friday that they received 9 babies by midday including five boys and four girls.
The first baby was born at 00:42 to Thorosia Uises who delivered the baby boy at home before coming to the hospital for professional medical care with her husband, Uavangaije Rukongo.
The baby weighed a total of 4.5 kg.
A visibly excited Rukongo beamed with pride and joy as he held his baby boy in his arms with gratitude.
“He is my first born, and I am very happy. I thank God for such a beautiful gift on Christmas Day,” said Rukongo.
Katutura State Hospital recorded the highest number of births by mid Christmas Day 2015 followed by the Windhoek Central Hospital recording four, and one each at Rhino Park Private Hospital and Medi-Clinic Private Hospital Windhoek.
