Tsumeb pensioners receive Christmas gifts

Thirty eight senior citizens living at two old age homes in Tsumeb were showered with Christmas gifts by Dundee Precious Metals Tsumeb, recently.

Public Relations Coordinator at Dundee Precious Metals Tsumeb, Elizabeth Mutota said, Dundee honours and respect the good work done by the elderly through the years and would like to express gratitude. “Through this joyous and festive visit, we are acknowledging the role and significance of the elderly in our community”.

“We appreciate what you are doing, not only for us but for others, thank you that you always think about us senior citizens” said Hendrihetta Johana, the Matron at Tsumeb Maroela Retirement Home.

This is the fourth time Dundee is hosting such an event, which has become an annual occasion and is in line with the Dundee core value “Community Investment”, where by the company does its best by ensuring that the Tsumeb community is an enhanced place for residents. “Thank you Dundee Precious Metals, we appreciate your work we know that you have done a lot for the community and we wish you all the best to continue assisting the community” said Lovisa Iiyambo, Chairperson of the Welfare Organisation.

Furthermore Mutota encouraged caretakers to find creative ways that will enable senior citizens to remain economically active for longer periods and to continue contributing to society through their accumulated skills, expertise and wisdom.
