WINDHOEK, 01 DEC (NAMPA) – A senior member of the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP), Ellen Musialela has re-joined the Swapo Party.
Musialela was an executive committee member of the RDP before she moved over to her former political party, Swapo.
She was Tuesday welcomed back by Swapo Secretary-General Nangolo Mbumba and newly elected Khomas Regional and Local Authority councillors at the Swapo headquarters.
Musialela was accompanied by other former RDP members Philemon Kanime; Festus Naholo, Magnus Nangombe and Nora Apollus who also made a comeback to Swapo a few weeks ago.
Speaking at a media briefing here on Tuesday, Musialela, who was a co-founder of the Swapo Women's Council, said she has a history in Swapo and her father was one of the freedom fighters.
“I am back home, not to look for a position, and I will be ready for any assignment given to me,” she said.
Musialela, a former RDP councillor on the Windhoek Municipality, said she resigned from Swapo because there was no peace, “but now peace and stability are prevailing”.
She left Swapo in 2007, the same year the RDP was formed.
