The Brave Gladiators got their German tour off to a great start with an emphatic 11-0 win over TSV Brekefeld in a warm-up match in Westphalia at the weekend.
Namibia Football Association (NFA) Technical Director, Klaus Staerk, who is the tour coordinator says the ladies successfully used their warm up match ahead of their clash against the Westphalia’s under-17 team later on Monday.
“The Brave Gladiators dominated the game from the first touch on and scored already nine goals in the first half. The game was played in the beautiful sports centre in Brekefeld and more than 300 fans saw a good performance of the Namibian team,” said Staerk.
Staerk also says their big challenge is yet to come when they play a second tier league club.
“It was a warm up game against a lower league side and we showed our class and now we are looking forward to the upcoming challenges against the under 17 Westphalia selection and the 2nd Bundesliga team of VfL Bochum,” he says.
The goals for the Gladiators came with a brace each by Thomalina Adams, Amukoto Twelikondjela, Zenatha Coleman, Vistorina Shangula and Magdalene Paulus while Juliana Skrywer scored one.
The team stays at the Sports Centre of the Westphalia Football Association, which houses a great hotel facility and world-class sporting facilities, according to Staerk.
