ONGWEDIVA, 26 AUG (NAMPA) - Trade fairs and other similar initiatives are platforms for the exchange of knowledge in commerce, hence Government’s full support of the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF).
President Hifikepunye Pohamba said this in a statement present on his behalf by Trade and Industry Minister Calle Schlettwein at the official opening of this year’s OATF here on Sunday.
In his statement, the Head of State noted that the trade fair also serves as a platform for entrepreneurs to discuss and plan the economic growth of the country.
“The business environment is volatile and, as such, both the public and private sectors need to constantly review their policies and operations,” he noted.
He went on to say Government will continue to support initiatives which promote investment, industrialisation and economic growth.
Some 450 local and international exhibitors are participating in this year’s OATF. Amongst others, exhibitors from countries such as Japan, Indonesia, Kenya, Angola, Botswana, Nigeria and Egypt are showcasing their products and services at the trade fair.
The nine-day OATF 2013 commenced its activities on Friday and will run until this coming Saturday.
