Special voting starts in Khomas Region

WINDHOEK, 23 NOV (NAMPA) – The special voting process in the 2015 Regional Council and Local Authority Elections started in the Khomas Region on Monday.
The voting process started at 09h00 and is expected to end at 19h00, Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) Assistant Regional Coordinator for Khomas Region, Salome Iiyambo confirmed to Nampa on Monday.
Iiyambo said the special voting process scheduled will cater for all officials who are to be deployed to different constituencies in the region when the rest of the nation will hit the polls on 27 November to cast their votes.
“The special voting has started in ten polling stations in the region. This will only be applicable to officials such as police officers to be deployed for elections to different constituencies,” she said.
Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) configured especially for these elections are being used.
Special voting is staking place at Emma Hoogenhout Primary School; Namibia Children Home; Suiderhof Primary School; Khomasdal Community Hall; Wanaheda Police Station; Katutura Community Hall; Mandume Primary School; Disability Resource Centre; A Shipena Secondary School; and Hainyeko Community Hall.
