Girl, 12, allegedly kills self in Ombili

WINDHOEK, 15 NOV (NAMPA) – A 12-year-old girl was on Friday found hanging dead at her home in Ombili in the capital on Friday.
Chief Inspector Kauna Shikwambi of the Namibia Police Force’s Public Relations Unit said during a media briefing here on Sunday the girl was found hanging dead from a laptop cable attached to her bedroom's ceiling. The deceased was identified as Magdalena Shaetonhodi. No suicide note was left behind. Her relatives were informed and investigations into the case continue.
Two other suicides were reported to the police over the weekend.
Johannes Lukas (age unknown) was on Friday found hanging dead in a storeroom at the Ehafo village in Ondangwa. He was reported missing on Wednesday and was only found on Friday. His next of kin were informed of his death.
No suicide note was found and police investigations into the case continue.
Simon Hafyenaye, 22, was found dead at Oidimba Yanakalunga close to Eenhana in the Ohangwena Region on Saturday around 13h00. It seems that he took his life by means of shooting himself with a pistol. No suicide note was left behind.
His next of kin were informed of his death.
