WINDHOEK, 06 NOV (NAMPA) - The body of a 23-year-old man was on Thursday discovered close to the Otjomuise Mass Housing project site in Windhoek.
Although the identity of the deceased is known to Nampa, it cannot be revealed as his next of kin are yet to be informed.
The deceased, most likely a security guard as he was found in uniform, was discovered by a guard from another security company doing duty in the area at around 21h00.
Although no marks were found on the victim's body, his clothes were torn, indicating that he was possibly wrestling or fighting with his alleged killer.
A bag containing his identity documents and his service weapon, were found next to the body by members of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol).
Chief Inspector Kauna Shikwambi, the Head of NamPol's Media Relations unit, confirmed the incident to Nampa.
“The cause of his death is not known and is under investigation,” Shikwambi said.
No arrests had been made at the time of going to press.
