Tigers ready to fight for their top spot in Rundu

WINDHOEK, 30 OCT (NAMPA) – Tigers Football Club coach Brian Isaacs says his team is ready for a tough weekend in Rundu for its round 10 and 11 matches.
Tigers are currently top of the log on 23 points after nine Namibia Premier League games. Black Africa are second on the log with 21 points after 11 games, while UNAM occupies third place with 18 points after 11 games.
Isaacs told Nampa on Thursday he is aware of the tough games his players will play on Saturday and Sunday against Rundu-based Julinho Sporting and United Stars, but they are prepared to fight and remain top of the log after those games.
“Preparing for an away-game is very tricky, because you have to prepare for the journey first and then the harsh playing conditions since you will be playing away on a pitch you are not used to.
“Earlier this year we travelled to Rundu and managed to win the game 1-0 against Rundu Chiefs, but it was really difficult to win that game. The players found it very difficult to play at the Rundu Sports Stadium in extreme heat and a field that is not the best of the best,” said Isaacs.
He added that he is aware that every team in the Premier League is now looking forward to beating Tigers since they are the log leaders.
“Everyone wants to shoot us down from the top of the log. I am aware of the difficult opponents we will face on the journey, but we always try to play our games in our opponent's half to avoid being under pressure on a pitch we are not used to.
“I am confident that come end of this weekend’s games we will still be top of the log,” he said.
Another team travelling to Rundu this weekend is fourth-placed African Stars.
