The SWAPO Party Youth League (SPYL) has announced its support of President Dr. Hage Geingob, who is also the President of SWAPO Party, putting aside 20% of his salary towards the establishment of a scholarship fund to assist learners coming from poor background.
In the media release it states, “As the President always promote the noble course of inclusivity and that no one should be left out in the Namibian house, indeed he is leading by example and shows that he is a true leader that cares for his people.”
It also says that the actions of the President is a call on other well-off Namibians to share their means with those in poverty in the country.
In the same media release, SPYL also encourages learners and students to focus on studies in preparations for exams and for people to provide conducive environments for these students to learn.
Along the same sentiments, SPYL says, “We are confident that 2015 classes will give us the best results ever produced in Namibia and we encourage all students to do their utmost best.”
Finally, SPYl comments on students at tertiary institutions faces with the challenge of outstanding tuition fees and says that they are confident that they, “[…]will be allowed to write their examinations thanks to the able leaderships of our government and relevant offices and agencies.”
