They were rushed to the Okahandja State Hospital. Meanwhile, a member of the Namibian Defence Force (NDF) allegedly hit a police officer at the scene while the police and paramedics attended to the casualties. According to Anghuwo, the man approached the scene at a high speed and failed to stop.

The officer was rushed to the hospital with injuries to his head, back and arm injuries. The 29-year-old NDF member was arrested and charged with reckless and negligent driving.

Anghuwo was however unable to say whether he was on duty when he drove into the police officer and whether the vehicle driven belonged to the NDF or was private.
