SWAKOPMUND, 15 AUG (NAMPA) - Three people were killed instantly Thursday morning, after the Isuzu pick-up they were travelling in overturned on the notorious B2 road about 30 kilometres outside Swakopmund towards Arandis.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Regional Crime Investigations’ Coordinator for the Erongo Region, Deputy Commissioner Ottilie Kashuupulwa told Nampa shortly after the accident that the pick-up was transporting 10 contract workers, including the driver, from Walvis Bay to Arandis.
She indicated that the vehicle also carried bags of cement and bricks.
“The vehicle lost balance and overturned,” Kashuupulwa explained.
She said the other seven passengers sustained minor to serious injuries, and were transported to the Swakopmund State Hospital.
Kashuupulwa said the deceased cannot be named yet, as their remains still have to be identified by their next of kin.
