Rundu man allegedly kills wife and son

RUNDU, 27 SEP (NAMPA) – A man was on Friday arrested for allegedly murdering his wife and seven-year-old son in the Kavango East Region.
The incident took place at Ndiyona.
The suspect’s identity is known to Nampa, but can only be released upon his court appearance on Monday.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s acting Crime Investigation Coordinator for Kavango East, Detective Chief Inspector Chrispin Mubebo told this news agency it is not known why the 45-year-old man killed his wife and son.
He said witnesses however told the police a fight allegedly broke out between the man and his 33-year-old wife at around 13h00 on Friday.
According to Mubebo, the man shot his wife twice. The first bullet wounded the deceased on the left lower arm.
He fired a second bullet which struck her on the left side of her jaw and killed her.
He then apparently shot his son in the head twice. The boy was rushed to the Rundu State Hospital in critical condition.
He died at around 08h00 on Saturday, making it a double murder.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
