Chinese national robbed in Windhoek

WINDHOEK, 13 SEP (NAMPA) – A Chinese national was held at gunpoint in Windhoek’s Ombili residential area and robbed of personal property worth N.dollars 108 000 on Friday night.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol), Inspector Pendukeni Haikali told the weekly crime briefing here on Sunday the armed robbery occurred at around midnight.
The 45-year-old victim lives in Amansoniet Street. The unknown suspects forced open a door at the house and stole two laptops, three mobile phones and an unspecified amount of cash.
No recovery or arrest has been made yet and police investigations continue.
Also in Windhoek, a 35-year-old Zimbabwean national was held at gunpoint and robbed of property worth N.dollars 25 000 on Saturday.
The incident occurred in Santos Street in the Rocky Crest residential area.
It is alleged that a group of five men armed with a shotgun went to a construction site and told the people who were there, including the complainant, not to move. They then broke into the containers on the site and stole a generator and extension cables valued at about N.dollars 25 000.
The suspects left the scene in a white Citi Golf.
No arrest or recovery has been made yet and police investigations continue.
