Hamunyela and Jonas through to boxing semi's at AAG

KINTELE, 11 SEP (NAMPA) - Namibian boxers Mathias Hamunyela and Junius Jonas qualified to the semi-finals of the All Africa Games (AAG) boxing event underway in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo.
The semi-finals are scheduled for Friday afternoon.
Hamunyela beat Warui Peter Mangai from Kenya on points after three rounds of boxing in the Light Flyweight - 49 kilogramme (kg) category.
Namibia’s 2014 Commonwealth silver medallist Junius Jonas, who is fighting in the Light Welterweight (64 kg) category, once again put up a great fight to outclass his opponent, Colin Ricardo of Mauritius, on points on Thursday evening.
They are the last of eight Namibian boxers still in the competition.
Since the tournament started on Friday, Namibia has won three bronze medals through swimmer Daniela Lindemeier.
The games end on 19 September 2015.
Namibia won seven medals - one gold, one silver and five bronze – at the 2011 AAG held in Maputo, Mozambique.
