EBank has now been in operation for 10 months and today we are excited to announce the launch of our MasterCard debit cards. This is yet another milestone in our journey to bring cutting-edge banking products and solutions to our existing and potential customers.
True to our vision, “To be Namibia’s most accessible bank”, we aim to bring banking services to everyone in Namibia. Since our launch in November 2014, we have established partnerships with trusted and reliable retail partners to build a network of EBank service points and client presence countrywide.
Our strategic focus areas remain to further grow this network, to continue with product innovation and to increase our investment in client education to drive product and service use.
The introduction of MasterCard debit cards is an essential part of our network expansion strategy and a critical step in making our services and offerings ubiquitous and accessible to all. EBank clients now have the choice of using their cell phone to transact at the till points of any of our growing number of retail partners or, alternatively, using their MasterCards to pay for goods and services at any point of sale device.
Although EBank does not have an ATM network of its own, a unique feature of the EBank MasterCard is that our clients can withdraw money at any ATM of the four major banks in Namibia – at the same fee. Our clients can therefore avoid long queues as they can withdraw money at the ATM with the fewest people in the line.
EBank debit cards are EMV compliant, with Chip and PIN, and therefore meet international security standards on the Payment Industry Card Data Security Standard adopted by Namibian Banking Industry. The cards will be available at the EBank Service Centre at Wernhil Park.
