Two men commit suicide in Kavango East

RUNDU, 08 SEP (NAMPA) - Two men allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves at separate places in the Kavango East Region.
The first incident occurred at the Tuhungireni residential area in Rundu on Tuesday, where a 36-year-old man was found hanging inside his hut.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s acting Regional Crime Investigation Coordinator for Kavango East, Detective Chief Inspector Chrispin Mubebo told Nampa the same day that the deceased used a rope which he tied around his neck before hanging himself from the hut’s roof.
He has been identified as Ndumba Jeremiah Nyatapinga, a resident of Tuhungireni.
The incident took place at around 06h00 in the morning.
The deceased’s mother informed the police that he (the deceased) was complaining about not feeling well so she took him to the hospital on Monday.
No foul play is suspected and no suicide note was left behind.
The police opened an inquest docket into the incident.
The second person took his own life by hanging himself from a tree outside his homestead at the Kehemu residential area in Rundu last Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as the 23-year-old Thimoteus Sabe.
According to the police, no foul play is suspected.
The deceased’s next-of-kin have been informed.
