WINDHOEK, 03 SEP (NAMPA) – The skeletal remains of a human were discovered at the hockey field of the Deutsche Höhere Privatschule (DHPS) in Windhoek on Thursday.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi confirmed on Thursday that the remains were discovered by construction workers digging a trench alongside the hockey field at about 15h30.
“The remains have been taken for forensic analysis. We will only then be able to say how long the remains have been there, but obviously it is not fresh remains,” he said.
Kanguatjivi said an analysis will also be conducted to determine whether the remains belonged to a man or woman.
There is a church located opposite the hockey field.
Nampa could however not establish whether there was a cemetery attached to the church.
The City Of Windhoek’s Manager for Corporate Communications and Customer Care, Joshua Amukugo was not able to provide answers at the time of enquiry.
